4S Newsletter

April 2021

They say, “April showers bring May flowers!” We could see some rain this month so make sure to send appropriate boots and outdoor clothing for the weather with your child.

In Language Arts we will be continuing writing persuasive paragraphs and letters to share our opinions or make suggestions to solve a problem and make improvements to something. I encourage your student to practice reading at home for at least 20 minutes everyday.

In Math we will be working on collecting data and making tables to represent the data. We will be learning to use information from tables and graphs to help solve math problems.

In Science we will be beginning to learn about Light and Shadows.

In Social Studies we will be learning about the challenges and celebrations that helped to shape Alberta into the province it is today.

In Health this month we will continue to build our wellness toolkit for regulating emotions, facing challenges and navigating social situations.

Thank you for supporting our Jump Rope for Heart Campaign in March. Fairview students and staff were able to raise $1091.70 for the Heart and Stroke Foundation. WOW! We have loved seeing Mrs. Hampton, Mrs. Richardson, Mrs. Sullivan and Mrs. Harink’s colourful hair as we surpassed each of our goal totals. Well done everyone!
